India ring size chart
The Indian system: plain numbers, with a beautifully simple rule — an Indian size is roughly the inner circumference in millimetres minus 40. Indian 14 means about 54 mm around the inside.
How the Indian system works
Numbers, 1 mm per size
Each Indian size step adds 1 mm of circumference — a finer step than a US half size (about 1.3 mm) and finer than a UK whole letter (about 1.27 mm). That makes Indian sizes precise in theory, but only if the retailer follows the same rule.
The rule: size = circumference − 40
Surat Diamond states it directly, and BlueStone's even-size table follows it exactly (8 → 48 mm, 10 → 50 mm, 12 → 52 mm, and so on). The table below is built from that rule, not from a US conversion.
Even sizes only, in some shops
BlueStone lists only even Indian sizes (8, 10, 12…), while Surat lists every integer. This site lists every integer, because the rule produces every integer — but if a shop stocks only even sizes, round to the nearest even size it stocks, and check the millimetres.
